5th thematic workshop in Rome
The 5th thematic workshop took place in Rome from 19 to 21 September 2011. Our hosts were the Province of Rome and BIC Lazio. The topic Increasing the share of renewable energy in passenger transport in Metropolitan Regions was addressed.
Presentations from every participating metropolitan region inspired interesting discussions for possible exchanges of good practices. It became clear that intelligient mobility management could generate significant potentials for minimising carbon emissions.
With regard to an increased use of renewable energy in passenger transport different approaches were discussed. The partners shared their views on the general potential of a higher use of renewables and the most recommendable technologies when it comes to sustainability in general and cost efficiency in particular.
The discussion will be continued during the Berlin workshop which will take part from 14 to 16 March 2012.
